Trottier, NHL Oldtimers set to invade Victoria on Monday

What do Crazy Claude the trumpeter and NHL Hall-of-Famer Bobby Hull have in common? They’re both on the bill at the Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge being featured at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on Monday, March 22nd, starting at 7 p.m.

Claude and Bobby are just two of the stars ready to razzle-dazzle the Victoria crowd with an entertaining mixture of classic hockey and mayhem, as the old-time hockey heroes take on the Greater Victoria Firefighters hockey team.

The headliners — Hull is the coach — include Hall-of-Famers Dale Hawerchuk, Glenn Anderson, Bryan Trottier, and Billy Smith, while others in the notable cast are Theoren Fleury, Cliff Ronning, Dave Ellett, Gary Leeman, Bernie Nicholls, Larry Melnyk, Bob Probert, Bob Bourne, Doug Bodger and Jimmy Mann. Adding to the fun are referee Ron Hoggarth, TSN broadcaster Rod Black, and singer/actor Michael Burgess, along with the Laser show, the Call to Recycle Tykes, and the Victoria Rachet Club Skaters.
