“I have had the pleasure of knowing Bryan Trottier for about the last 30 years and playing with him from 1975 to 1986. In my mind, there was no better two-way center man in the NHL than Bryan Trottier. While being one of the top point getters in the league, he was always one of the best defensive players as well. He played the game at both ends of the rink. Although Bryan was not a loud person in the locker room, he led by example on the ice. He was a great teammate and is still a very close friend. He does the same thing now that he is retired. He is a great example for young players and aspiring stars. His work with young players in the Islanders organization has been tremendous and measureable in its success. No matter what Bryan does, it will always be his full effort and commitment.”
